Reversible Applique Workshop taught by Kaye Joachim

Pick Which Project You Want To Do ( the sky’s the limit)

LARGE BASKET:
1.  Cut 2 of each all 15” x 23” and sandwich in this order, pin together DO NOT use spray basting. 
     Backing fabric right side down (This will not show unless you do not use lining.)
     Batting on top of backing fabric
     Coordinating fabric right side up on top of batting fabric
     “WOW” fabric  (this is your focus fabric) right side up on top of coordinating fabric
     Contrasting fabric right side up on top of WOW fabric
2.  Cut 2 pieces 15” x 23” of lining fabric
3.  Cut 2 of each 5” x 10” fabric for handles
     Cut 2 of each 4” x 9” batting for handles
4.  At this time you can Quilt a design or wait until class.
5.  Stop here the rest will be done in class.


WASTE BASKET:

Same as for the large basket but only cut 1 piece of each fabric plus batting 18” x 42” and sandwich in the same order. We No handles are needed unless you want them, then same as for large basket. 

FOR A PILLOW:

Same as for large basket but only cut 1 piece of each fabric plus batting (I just used fat quarters).  Sandwich in the same order.  No lining is needed.

16” - 18” zipper for closure or you can use the fold over method.

Sharp Pointy Scissors 

(I use embroidery scissors but anything sharp and pointy)


Sewing Machine with a Free Motion Quilt Foot, and a regular sewing foot


Matching or coordinating thread - 16”-18” zipper if doing the pillow
