There will be demonstrations to attend throughout the show. Please see below the schedule and what is being offered.
Diane Roberson will be doing a demo of freezer foundation paper piecing. Freezer Foundation Paper Piecing using freezer paper as a pattern foundation. Unlike standard paper piecing, the paper is not sewn through. This makies the pattern reusable many times.
A demo will be scheduled soon.
Anne Johnson will be showing how two edges meet at a 45 degree angle, creating a 90 degree corner. As quilters we miter the corners of our binding and sometimes our borders. Mitered borders are basically a y-seam technique.
Tracey Walker will be demonstrating that machine applique is simply the process of sewing down fabric shapes on top of a solid piece of fabric, like a quilt block, with a sewing machine.
Deb Chilcote will demonstrate the art of English paper piecing as a method of patchwork where fabric is wrapped around fabric shapes made of thin paper cardboard or heavy paper then hand sewn together to make an intricate design.
Barbi Ouellette will demonstrate how quilt flange binding is composed of two strips of fabric sewn together with a 1/4" seam.
Gayle Underwood will be putting on a brief demonstration of her Civil War Quilts. Gayle will be in full civil war attire.
Robin Easter will show us how to quilt our blocks before we add them to a quilt and with sashing how to join the blocks.
Theresa Atkinson will show us how to use various stabilizers in our projects.
Jeanie Donnelly will demonstrate how to do Wool Applique. Wool applique is usually done with hand sewing embroidery techniques.
Laura Nelle Goebel will demonstrate the art of hand stitching.
