Participate in a Workshop
August 27, 2026 - Sashiko

Cost of class is $5.00 payable at time of sign-up.
Supply list:
- Sashiko needle (Clover or Olympus) or embroidery crewel or darning needle with sharp point.
- Fabric- match your thread and needle to your fabric weight
- Scissors
- Sashiko thread (or can substitute pearl cotton or embroidery thread)
- Fabric marking tools (white marking pen that can be removed with water or heat or heat sensitive ink)
- Ruler or quilters ruler- no larger than 9-12 inches
- You may collect your own supplies or order a kit from Jackie.
- Kits without specialized thimble $10, and those with the specialized thimble are $17.Cost for this class is $5.00 plus pattern.
Go to Kileysquiltroom.com to purchase the pattern. The template is included with the pattern, but you will need to use the QR code to download it. The cost of the pattern is $12.00 if you download or $14.00 if you want a paper copy.
September 19, 2026 National Jelly Roll Day

On Saturday, September 19th (9:00 am -4:00 pm) we will be celebrating National Jelly Roll Day with a sew along.
Lunch will be a potluck, so bring something to share. Attendance is free but if you choose to make the pattern I will be showing, you will need to order it from Cluck Cluck Sew at the following link:

The pattern is called Jelly Weave. It is available as a downloadable PDF for $10.00 or as a hard copy for $10.00 plus shipping of approximately $2.00.

September 24-25, 2026 Mystery Shopping Trip
Join your fellow guild members for two full days of shopping: great deals, carpooling, after hours fun, good food, and camaraderie with like-minded shoppers!
This will be an overnight shopping trip.
There are still openings remaining. Contact Diane Roberson if you want to join in the
fun. Get your carpool and roommates identified/recorded, a great way to share the cost of gas and the hotel. Sign up and provide a copy of the waiver which can be found under the signup sheet at the general meeting or you can find it in the September issue of Needle Notes.
This event is always fun!
September 24, 2026 Flag Pillow or Ultimate Beginner Class
If you are not going on the mystery shopping trip, fear not, we have two other options available. Carol Stearns will be teaching the Flag Pillow class. On Thursday, September 24th (9 am -2:00 pm) Lisa Lydston will be leading the Ultimate Beginner Quilting Class. Lisa will be giving instructions on finishing up the sampler project.

October 26th - Zentangle
Zentangle for Quilters: Draw Your Way to Better Quilting
On Thursday, October 26th, Jackie Youngblood, CZT, will lead a class on Zentangle.
Turn your doodles into quilting designs!
Discover how Zentangle-inspired drawing can help you build confidence and develop
the rhythm, movement, and muscle memory needed for free-motion machine quilting.
In this fun, relaxing class, you’ll learn simple repetitive patterns and flowing lines, then
explore how to translate them into quilting motifs and background fillers. You’ll practice
creating designs on paper while learning to think about where your quilting line will go
next—without worrying about perfection!
No drawing or artistic experience is needed! Just bring your creativity and a
willingness to play with lines and patterns. You may discover that doodling is the perfect way to prepare your mind and hands for machine quilting.
Supplies will be provided. Supply fee of $5 provides Micron pen, Zentangle pencil, paper tiles and tortillons. (If you would like to add color, bring colored pencils or pastel pencils.)
Come doodle, relax, and discover a new way to design your quilting!
